The 17th General Assembly of IAA Europe took place on October 19th in Belgrade, Serbia. In the organising of the General Assembly IAA Europe received help from its local partner and the National Committee of Serbia, the Association of Fine Artists of Serbia (ULUS).

The General Assembly was arranged as a hybrid event for the first time. There were almost 50 observers and delegates from nearly 20 National Committees attending the General Assembly either on-site in Belgrade or online.

We also had the pleasure of having the IAA World president Kwangsoo Lee and his collegue Jun Jung join the assembly on-site in Belgrade as an observer.

The General Assembly was hosted at the premises of the ULUS Gallery and the Cvijeta Zuzorić Art Pavilion, and via Zoom.

After the General Assembly IAA Europe and it’s National Committee representatives in Belgrade had the opportunity to attend a reception at the residence of the Finnish Embassy in Belgrade. The reception was the perfect end for the week, and IAA Europe wants to thank the Finnish Embassy for hosting us.

A day prior to the General Assembly, on the 18th October, the annual Symposium of IAA Europe took place at Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment. This year’s symposium concerned artists’ labour and the visual arts in the changing digital environments and went with the name “ART AND ROBOTS: Future of artists’ labour in the context of current technological development”.

The symposium was also hosted as a hybrid event, and it was recorded. The recording will be posted on ULUS’ Youtube channel later on. The Symposium was hosted by IAA Europe in collaboration with ULUS. a-n The Artists Information Company helped with the preparations and visual identity of the Symposium.
